May I suggest a "mount everything" button?
Mounting and unmounting seems good for security. speed and memory freeing reasons. On Unix or networked computers and on Puppy there is some argument for its use.
m m m . . .
Good job looks nice

There could be a 'Play CD' button, 'Play DVD' button...
But it has to be clear. - This is not meant as a fork of pmount.
It's just a proto of an gui-idea. I think the best is that the maintainer(s)
of pmount adopt this idea if they think it is something they want to use.
There are things that needs to be cleared up if using this code.
But if pmount stays the same too long...who knows.
Suddenly I get time left, and a huge need of coding.

I guess I got too inspired. I fixed some issues, and made some buttons.
- Buttons for playing CD/DVD.
- Trying to mount disk where pup_save is gives builtin error
- If you had trouble showing your hd-partitions - try this one.
- Fixed slow display in rox.
It now seems stable enough for my personal use.
Maybe working for you too.

Maybe pmount is the right place for filesystem check. I've made a proto.
See main post.

Dear Sigmund,
I like v. 0.4, particularly the filecheck option, but think you could make one cosmetic improvment. Why not do this:
Code: | gxmessage -borderless -font "sans bold 14" -center -bg "orange" -buttons "" " Puppy Drive Mounter
|
instead of running yaf-splash at line 41. It looks much better and respects the user's gtk theme. What do you think?
With kind regards,
vovchik

Hello zigbert,
Everything is about looks, so keep doing what your doing and adding improvements in user-ability and feel.
Maybe you can work your magic on other Puppy Apps that look a bit dated.
I already have version 0.3 installed, so will wait until you feel you can't do anymore with Pmount before updating. Go zigbert

Better and better
typed 'mut' at the console to see why I still prefer the look and feel of mut
I looked at pmount, zigmount [ahem] and mut and side by side
The conclusion is that having the dir location (though useful) is too much extra info to process for quick and painles usage. It is a geek overkill feature.
Is it possible to have this info off by default and a 'more info' toggle?
Just an idea
Would this version be suitable for Talking Stick?

There is absolutely more to do on the gui, but I think the most important thing is to brainstorm about how things should work. Then if ending up with something useful, - Lets give it a facelift. Maybe Gtk-boxes and progressbar....
Lobster
- Yeah, it could be lesser text. Lets see in 0.5.
- Your 'mount all' button needs a different code-structure, and I do not intend to do that at this stage.

version 0.5
squeezed some text and buttons, and change the yaf-splash to gtk-splash with progressbar

Version 0.6
Lobster. The light suddenly turned on, and I mixed together a 'mount all' button. I didn't let it mount the CD/DVD because of speed. I guess this feature is most useful for several harddrives with several partitions.
The drive where puppy is installed, is now locked.
All the new stuff is placed as seperate functions to not mix the code between pmount and pmount-zigbert. This also makes it very easy to implement code in later pmount-edition.

Pmount-zigbert getting better and better Subject description: Missing disk capacity |
|
Dear Sigmund (or "Zigmount", which I like),
It's getting better and better. The idea to use gtkdialog3 and a progress bar is perfect, particularly in a case like mine where probing takes a bit of time. Although you are working primarily on the gui, I have noted that there is a little error in the functional code in that it doesn't display the capacity of my home drive - which is about 50 GB. All that shows up is a dot. Please see attached image. I think I already pointed this out to the original author of pmount (was it Dougal?), and he fixed that business in one of his latter tabbed incarnations.
Good work. I look forward to v. 7.
Kind regards,
vovchik

Let's hope Dougal, Barry or Plinej watch us......and maybe they can give us the fix / latest code. My /mnt/home shows correct info. Could it be a ntfs-issue?

It also seems to be something weird about your second swap?
