Can't boot puppy from USB drive on laptop

#1 Post by eyeshield »

I am trying to boot Puppy through a USB drive onto a laptop.

I extracted all the files from the ISO to the USB drive. Now I don't know what to do. The site instructions just confuse me more. The ISO file doesn't have any syslinux files that is mentioned in the instructions.

Also running WinXP.

hey ejes shield can you tell me how you solved the problem with booting.
I'm encountering a similiar problem - I guess. When I reboot I get "error loading operating system"

make sure you're using the latest syslinux... like 3.11 or something

Hey eyeshield

I had the same problem; in my case puppy stated that there was no disc found which could be mounted, and whether I wanted to proceed anyway. If I just pressed ENTER, it said later that it could not find usr_cram.fs. But if you enter 'sda1' (to mount the USB stick) it worked.

hope this helps.
