Firewall-HOWTO

#1 Post by 8-bit »

This one is for those of you that have tried the help button in Firewall Wizard and were told by it that the help site no longer existed.
So I am going to attach a help file that you can use in your browser.

Thanks for the file. I uncompressed it and started reading. Lots of good information in it. Thanks again.

You are welcome.
The file is also a link to the internet site for it. I know because I tried it with my internet connection down and got an error 404 Not FOUND.
But It beat not having any docs.

Also, Linux Firewall is built into the kernel so a compile into the kernel is not required.

I was not able to view the document (probably due to my lack of Linux skill). I downloaded the document and opened it with Opera. The table of contents led to links that were not available. I searched Grennan's site, but I did not have any luck. :?:

Hey Tim, dumping a reply to a seven year old post's not the best. *PING* 8-bit and ask if he's got an update..

I still have the original html file and supporting html files on my hard drive.
If the tar.gz file has those supporting html files, you can load them individually.
It has been so long since I made it, I honestly do not remember.
As to updates, I never checked and as you stated the links in the html dont work now. I just added the supporting files so check you messages.

I never messed with changing the links for each HTML file by the way.
But for ease of use, a PDF file is included in the added directory and the links to various areas of the PDF file in it work.
