How to disable keyboard choice during first boot?

#1 Post by hushpuppy »

I'm remastering and want to be able to disable the part where the user chooses a keyboard during first boot, or "when using the pfix=ram" option. Does anyone know which file to edit, and which line(s) to delete ?.

Curious why?
Because ive created a live cd version of zoneminder based upon puppy and i want it to boot straight to the desktop without asking any questions.

I've also figured out the problem myself, make sure there is a /etc/keymap file with a keymap name inside it. (uk.map in my case).

I'm also writing scripts that look on the first hdd for a config file, if found, some settings can be loaded, keymap can be one of them.

the answer to your question is probably to use the boot parameter
pkeys ???
as documented at
http://puppylinux.org/wikka/BootParms

this will need to be added to the kernel boot line in isolinux.cfg
I've never used this

You still need to get round the xorgwizard or are you not starting X?

Another option would be to create a multisession cd.
