Can IceWeasel/IceCat use Firefox extensions/plug-ins? Their website mentions that they run their own plug-in finder @ gnuzilla.gnu.org but I was unable to access it to see what was there.
I'd like to use IcePup as a browser-only means to access Web2/Rich Internet Applications like myPup but using my own selections as simple browser bookmarks, organized by category e.g. Word processors, spreadsheets, etc. I note you offer a Flash9 tar.gz download but have you considered offering IcePup with Flash, Java, a mediaplayer and a PDF reader pre-installed and configured to work with the browser? Sure would be nice! (Though I realize the Java especially would make it a much larger ISO.) :)
p.s. What's that beautiful font you used for the 'IcePup' title on your website?

The version I'm playing with (0.5) is based on Puppy 2.13. HTH

The font is "Vivaldi". . .
is it possible to find iceweasel for a normal puppy?
It is. . .here is the link:

http://www.toddrichardson.com/icepup/ic ... -g2.tar.gz

. . .and here are the instructions:

1. Download IceWeasel.
2. Install using the following code:
mv iceweasel* /usr/local/
cd /usr/local/
tar -zxvf iceweasel*
rm /usr/local/*.tar.gz
3. You will want to place a symbolic link to the IceWeasel executable in /usr/local/bin/ with a command similar to this:
ln -s /usr/local/iceweasel/iceweasel /usr/local/bin/iceweasel

Sincerely,

Todd Richardson

In some ways, IcePup is brilliant. In other ways, it is rather disappointing. I decided to test out IcePup as a potential platform for my K-9 project. It worked well on my pentium 4. However, it failed miserably on my Gateway Solo 2000 laptop (which is running Puppy 2.13 derivative DigiPup). I know that I set the BIOS to boot from cdrom and I know that I typed: "puppy pfix=ram"

I have no clue..................

Still, given I am probably going to use an old 486 as the motherboard, it may still work out....

I am planning on using the new Puppy Jr. (that Barry has been working on) as the base for Icepup in the future. This should fix the problems you are talking about.

Good plan Todd 8)

Iceweasel (a totally free - no copytrighted logos - no proprietary drivers) plus Puppy base - sounds good

You might like to add some bookmarks to free services for example:
http://tmxxine.com/g/
Puppy Raspup 8.2Final 8)
Puppy Links Page http://www.smokey01.com/bruceb/puppy.html :D

Macadavy mentioned a PDF reader. I really dislike Gview and I was at Lowe's (an American hardware store chain) and noticed they were using Xpdf. I had never used it, so I tried it. Here is the package:

http://www.toddrichardson.com/icepup/xpdf-3.01.tar.gz

It will print if I check the box next to "Print with command:" and then type in "lp". (I have the CUPS package found on http://www.icepup.info/ installed.)

I was able to open 1.3, 1.4, and 1.7 PDF files from various different sources but, strangely, the PDF files created by the HP "Multi Function Printer" at work would not open.
