Puppy Mod for EEE PC?!? |
|
The 199 $ Notebook
Hi,
the new EEE PC from Asus will soon flood the market! What about a Puppy Linux for this device? It can boot from USB and SD and for those who order the Windows version (available next year), a SD card with Puppy on it would be wonderful to use a tiny linux!

There are already a few threads about this (one, in fact, was started just yesterday). Do a forum search for it and you will find some more info and opinions.
The general consensus has been that this computer is perfect for Puppy, but we're still waiting for someone to get a hold of one (it's already been released in some countries).

That is because the minumum search string is 4 characters so EEE can't be searched for! here is a link:

No need to be sorry, the actual search function sucks. Many of us use <http://www.wellminded.com/puppy/pupsearch.html>. Alternatively, you can use Google and just add "site:www.murga-linux.com" to the end of your search and it will search only Mr. Murga's site.

" Many of us use

I have not heard of this.
Maybe John could put this near the top of the forum page etc.
It will save frustrations for newbies and those trying to help out.
Helps out forum members themselves for replies, their own research etc.
Surely would help John ....less maintenance.
Thanks SirDuncan..........................Chris

Adding * for missing characters when there are not 4 allows a search so > eee* works.

Breeezy, tiny and fast browser suite for the eee (pup_213) Subject description: fun browser package based on SafePup and Puppy 2.13 for Linux newbies |
|
Good news! I just uploaded breeezy, a Puppy Linux build for the eee at:
http://minipc.org/safepup/index.php?file=Breeezy%20for%20the%20eee.htm
This is useful for users who purchased the eee with Windows XP, but want to try Linux, or for Linux users who want to maximize storage by using all of 4 GB disk space in the eee for data.
NB: The microphone and web cam of the eee are not yet operational for this version of breeezy.
The Puppy Linux forum announcement is here:
