Hi folks, has anyone had any luck with USB Palm syncing?

I have tried "pilot-link" from this forum, and found the Palm OS Desktop HOWTO.
pilot-xfer from this package seems to want to work.....

The HOWTO suggests to modprobe visor or modprobe usbserial.
Neither of these return anything?

It would seem to be that I'm not getting the connection to happen?
I'm using a USB Palm m500 and playing with Puppy 1.0.5rc2

Any ideas for a simple solution???

Have blundered on regardless.....please bear with me, I'm fairly in-experienced with the nuts and bolts side of things.
As stated before I have installed the pilot-xfer packages listed on this forum and it seems to want to run. Though I'm not 100% sure of the command line functions.
I have also seemed to have installed a running version of jpilot, with some mucking about with file locations.
The problem I seem to be having is locating the USB port device?
I have an OS of Vector with pilot-link and jpilot. I am able to assign the USB port to /dev/ttyUSB2.
How does Puppy assign these USB ports?
Do I need to create another device module somehow?

Hi, I know that a lot of not so often required kernel modules have been left out of standard puppy. However, there is a download package on ibiblio (standard pupget puppy download location) with ALL modules for kernel 2.4.x.

So I would suggest downloading this package and see if the required modules are included...

Can you post the links that you found for this? I'll try to play with this.

From what I remember in my earlier attempts with this on older distros, you need the modules and the pilot-link software, as well as a gui frontend to use to transfer your calendar.
