Mozilla can, but ftp and .pup can't, connect to internet |
|
Hi!
I am new so be nice to me. I don't know much about Linux, let alone Puppy. Then again I don't know much about anything.
AnyHow, I ran Puppy livecd 1.0.4 as multi session and configured my Lan.
I then started Mozilla and configured Proxy. Every thing fine so far and I am now connected.
If I try to use other programs Like Ftp or something else I get an error message asking whether I am really connected to internet, or the program simply is not able to connect, like DotPup.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx in advance

Do you have an Internet connection?
Is the proxy on your computer or some other computer?
From the little you wrote, I sorta have the impression you are on a network and a computer on the network provides a proxy service to the Internet. Would you explain the setup in more detail?

I am using LAN ( Local area network ) and yes I am connected to the internet via Proxy that resides on Server

I don't think you have an Internet connection except through the proxy. If this is the case you will have to configure the other apps to use the proxy, if possible.
