Chubby 1.0.5 is out!

#1 Post by BarryK »

It's here, courtesy of Normen Stengel:

http://puppy.nstsoftware.com/

Chubby Puppy with OpenOffice and Mozilla is only 91M.

I haven't announced it on the Developer News page yet, as
soon I will upload it to babbs site also.
Normen's server gets a bit stressed.

So, don't mention it on the Wiki yet either.

It has the bug-fix for installing to hard drive.

8) Seems OK - faster if anything, using it now - which Java is being used? Initially I just ran it over the standard Puppy 1.0.5.
No probs it just used the existing 1.0.5 settings - pah let us have a Chubby Puppy from scratch . . .

What needs to be done (assuming you are running from CD) is rename your puppy001 to puppy001_pre_chubby_1.0.5. Copy or backup any files (for me this is done by running Mut and copying a few directories over . . .)

Then (think this right) turn off your machine - if you close down "normally" a pup001 will be created . . .

Boot up with your brand new Puppy Chubby 1.0.5 - get on your knees, face OZ and repeat after me, "We are not worthy, we are not worthy . . . "

Is someone creating a torent? I cannot do it right now because I'm at the office. Hopefully someone will beat me to it and I'll just get home to seed it.

Chubby Puppy 1.0.5

#4 Post by dewdrop »

Hi

I've just posted a screenshot of my new Chubby Puppy 1.0.5 desktop on the WIKI.... http://www.goosee.com/puppy/wikka/PedigreePuppy - Chubby Puppy visiting Saturn... :)

Thanks Barry - you and the other developers - Thanks all you guys/gals - are doing great things - Puppy is growing, but is definitely on a "strict" diet, so the growing is with usefulness but not with size.

Woow, all of those themes look quite nice.

Where did you get the icons for Desktop with Torsmo? (the icons on top of the taskbar).

I think you might be referring to the one that someone else loaded using a Mac.

The only desktop image that is mine is the Saturn ring and Moon (black screen for the most part).

ltmodem-8.26a9-k2.4.29 works like a charm :D
If that desktop innocent faced puppy made a yip/bark during the boot, I`d go fetch it a box of biscuits.
If the puppy were interactive, perhaps the kids would settle for nothing less on their PC.
Congradulations on this amazing facelift. 8)

BTW, Barry uploaded to Babbs server already and made the announcement on the developer news page. The torrent is at http://www.linuxtracker.org/torrents-details.php?id=623. Enjoy!
