Hello Everyone,
If your like me and would prefer the full complete Open Office app in the latest version (2.3) with help docs etc and don't want to use any packages already made by Puppy Users and don't care if it's a bit hard to install then read on.
O.K I decided to see if the tar.gz file from Open Office's website could be made to run in Puppy 2.14, I had tried coping files from other distro's with no luck.
I downloaded the file about 158Mb's in size and unzipped it. I tried to run the universal installer, but it stopped half way though.
I then had a look in the folders until I found about 29 rpm files that make up Open Office. I believe this is why the installer stop as Puppy doesn't use rpm's
So here's the hard part, using the undeb/unrpm dotpup in terminal (console) I converted each file in turn until all where done (takes time that's what makes it hard) and as I did it in my opt folder I navigated to the bin folder inside the opt folder and clicked on say "scalc" and it worked.
I then dragged each bin file eg scalc, swriter, etc to the desktop and will make the correct menu files at a later date.
