Is there a driver for 3Com 3CXFE575CT PCMCIA?
I have a laptop with a 3Com 3CXFE575CT PCMCIA card. There is no such driver in the list in the Ethernet Configurator. I did find another post on this forum that said the 3Com 3C59x driver worked on his 3c575 (albeit a different sub-model) , but it doesn't work on mine.
Can anyone tell me "How does one supply a driver that is not already included?"
I have the same exact card and the exact same driver problem on my puppybox. Fortunatly it is for the secondary ethernet interface so I do have a connection
The solution it seems is to get a driver yourself. As far as I know you can take it from or compile it in another fatter distro with a compatible kernel and copy it to puppy. Or if the rumors or correct you can download usr_devx.sfs and compile it in puppy as well
I am cracking on with it about now myself. I'll let you know how it goes. But I'm no expett so based on experience expect about a month before I'm done... _________________ fake it until you make it
Your exact model of Cardbus (not PCMCIA) adaptor is listed here -
http://www.linuxforum.com/linux-hardware/pcmcia.html
as being supported by the 3c59x driver.
I don't know what other driver you could consider compiling.
