Here's what you get when you click the link now:
No more free drinks!

Cheers guys, it was a blast! Millions of people (literally) got their free registration code at our party, but the offer is now over.

But don't despair - you can still get Opera for free by joining our affiliate program. Just put an Opera-button on your webpage, get 250 people to click it, and you're home free!

Thanks edoc!
Got mine...lucky me :)

Opera used to be my default browser when it didn't have ads.
Now with the free reg. code it's my favourite again!
The fonts look better than Mozilla.
I like the zoom feature a lot.
It's also faster, and reminds me of the old days using Mac.

Woow, I saw that comming when they had their 'free licenses' aniversary. I was thinking 'geez, these guys may have gotten a large corporate contract that allows them to provide it free.

Well, It seems that I was right.

The only two complains I ever heard about Opera were: It has adds, It's not open source.

Well, now it does not have adds, and for most mortals, not being open source is just a fundamentalist position.

If you are planning to build uppon a broswer, choose an open source.

If you just want a fast an well featured web broswer, give Opera a chance.

Actually, if noone beats me to it, I will prepare an Opera 8.50 dotpup as son as I get home.

It sure would be nice to see Puppy Linux listed on the drop-down list at:

http://www.opera.com/download/linux.html

Who wants to take up that task? :D

Why don't you try it and let us know? :) It would be really nice instead of having to download the big Java install.

I am pretty sure it won't work with Opera although it should be fine with Puppy.

However, I would recommend SableVM (http://sablevm.org/), as I tried it with Puppy a while back and had good results, even managing to run Eclipse.

Cheers
