If you want to try the Nvidia installer, you'll need the devx and kernel source sfs files from here:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... modules-3/

Place the two sfs files in the same place as your pup_save file and reboot. This will give Puppy a compile environment and kernel source.

Then try the Nvidia installer. I haven't used the Nvidia installer for a while, but last time I tried it worked. Also, make a new pup_save file before starting and you'll need to be running Xorg (not Xvesa).

sathyan,

For the 8600 you probably need to use the NVIDIA-100.14.19-k2.6.21.7.pet
