Industrial PC with touchscreen

#1 Post by 0xCC »

Hi All.

I'm trying to configure puppy 3.01 to work on industrial PC. It has a 6.4" LCD touchscreen, which shows nice picture with xvesa, but do not with xorg(the "sis" driver, wrong colors with double picture). I connected a CRT monitor to standard video output, and a picture was OK under xorg. Then I edited xorg.conf and installed a driver(eGalax) for touchsreen, which works fine. So, i need to solve this problem:
1. Under xorg, i have no picture on LCD, but touchscreen reacts on touches
2. Under xvesa, i have a picture, but no touch driver(because xorg.conf doesn't execute, as far as i understand)

I need to merge working LCD with working touch driver, no matter under xorg or xvesa.

Thanks.

Have you tried the latest, experimental Puppy 4alpha3 Dingo?

You should try and tweak the xorg.conf and see if you can solve this.
Try googling for your LCD model and see if you find anything related to xorg. Also the sis driver.
I have a feeling it might be as simple as the wrong refresh-rates in xorg.conf.

You might also try using the xorg "vesa" driver, instead of sis.

Hmm, i found specs for my display, but failed to write correct ModeLine in xorg.conf, i must be doing something wrong. How ModeLine must looks for this, 640x480?

No, more of that, i think i'll move to "core" puppy, because this PC will be used to control some medical device.

I decided to take an easy way and changed driver to "vesa". Everything is fine now, thanks all.
