Frostwire

#1 Post by gazz »

Hello,

new to this linux lark, wanted a small os that would run from a usb drive, and save to it as well, tried pclos first, looked nice but too much of a faff about to get it to save to the usb drive,

so tried puppy, and i love it, did all i wanted almost straight away.

anyhoo, i got java and frostwire, it all works but thereś one annoying thing, it wont let me preview or launch anything from the main downloads screen,

clicking the launch or preview button does nothing,

i can go to the library tab, and can launch from there no probs, itś just i like preview what i downloading to see if itś the right thing, and stop it if itś wrong,

anyone else had that problem? and if so, how was it fixed,

im running frostwire version 4.13.3,
i do get a pop up when it loads saying thereś a newer version for linux, the link goes to their main page, and i unsure which version i need to download, Ubuntu, red hat or tarball.

you can tell how new i am to linux, dont even know which version i using.

Download the tarball, and then in the console type

Code: Select all

tar2pet XXX
Inset where you downloaded the tarball in for XXX. So if you downloaded it to the root folder the command would look like this

Code: Select all

tar2pet /root
Then delete the tarball and click on the pet that is in the forlder(should have the icon of a package).
I need help with my forum. LINK:http://www.programers.co.nr/

in its directory

Code: Select all

tgz2pet frostwire-5.1.4.noarch.tar.gz
produces a pet. when clicked the pet dumps all the files into /
clicking the frostwire file gets you to file selection and transfer and active chat community. fails to find browser.prolly needs config some where for the browser to work.
