How do we embed Puppy into a Thin Client for sale? |
|
Hi,
We sell thin cleints and are interested in embedding Puppy into a unit and then selling them. How do we go about it?

Hi,
If you look through the HOWTO section, there is a thread on how to install puppy to an internal IDE CF card.
Another company, NTAVO, have put together a thin client with Puppy, and you can find their announcement in the Announcements section. They put Puppy onto an older PC, the motherboard has only usb1, etc. ..but then, it is quite cheap also.

Hi Michael,
Puppy is of course free. We welcome commercial interests using and developing their projects using Puppy (well I do) as they are free to do. We have people using Puppy in a variety of ways . . .
The Puppy Foundation has set up a shop for commercial ventures:

Barry is the main developer and it is in your interests to provide any prototype to him for assesment and possible tweaking. The other thin client company did this - sending a protype with no strings and Barry looked at it and reported a few potential improvements. They are I believe creating the PuppyPC thin client . . . I would also recommend taking an active sponsorship or other role in the Foundation.

Anyways. Good luck

...hmmm, I could end up with a collection of thin clients all over my house
You guys should find it easy enough to install Puppy in your thin client.
If you get stuck, let us know.
