Hi, trying to help a friend get his new hp1420 deskjet printer running.
He had a lexmark we could not get going either so He upgraded to a new hp 1420. Still no joy. He has it installed, cups setup page sees it as default and when he tries to print test page, it tells him "No Job Found" I was reading that cups is broken on 3.0.1 is that true?
He has a homebuilt pc, 6 gig drive for puppy and running it from cd, version 3.0.1. new hp 1420 printer. Can anyone help? thanks

the ironic thing is that I think cups is intended to make printing easier with linux! I don't know whether cups is broken in pup3.01, but are you using hpijs as the driver? Maybe, although it's 70M+, you should try lluamco's Hplip package here:
