HD install

#1 Post by simple1 »

It is very nice to have puppy on the hard drive (hdb1, 1gb). I got ubuntu on hda1&5 (2gb) using grub. Install is a couple of days old and needs to have a number of kinks worked out - mostly ubuntu. Oh, K-6, 450mhz.

Now the question. Can I still make puppy run in ram? Or must I use the cd to do that? Puppy in ram is the fastest system I have used since and perhaps faster than win3.11. And I love it.

whether on HD or CD Puppy loads into Ram (assuming you have 128 meg or more) - less than this and it has to make use of a swap file

This is the long explanation which would be worth simplifying for the wiki:
