I would have thought that you could prune away a lot of stuff if you were so inclined, but at what point would it stop being Puppy.
The Initial Mission Statement says ( among other things ) that Puppy will have ALL the applications needed for daily use. Individual requirements vary wildly from one user to another, so Puppy has to try and 'cover all the bases', while still remaining small and fully functional .
If you could strip away what you didn't use/need and still keep it usuable ( and still keep it's own identity too ) it would be interesting to see how small you can get it.
