Hi all,
I starting a new thread for this topic because the previous one was
getting too complicated. Lets begin here with Puppy 2.17 wich has
the CUPS already included. Hoefully we can go step by step so that
any newbie (like myself) can install the MFC-420CN printer.
I assume we begin at the link below to download the LPR
driver for the MFC420. But which one? They have 2 columns,
one for "Red Hat / Mandriva (Mandrake) / SuSE" and one
for Debian. So which one do we DL for Puppy?

After we DL the correct LPR driver, what's next?

Brother Printer Set-up
I think once you DL the lpr driver for your printer model, unzip using either un-rpm or un-deb dot-pups available elsewhere in this forum, then DL the cups wrapper and unzip that using the same method. I hope that helps some if any. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong please.
