I am testing the last version 3.98.
it looks very nice and is working fine.
I heave one problem and that is the Wireless-connection.
My AP has WPA2 and WPA/AES..
WPA2 is not working and WPA/AES does not excist for so far I can see.
Scanning for Ap's gives me a full list of excisting AP's, so the driver is active.
So it also could be a problem in Puppy.
Perhaps it is a setting-problem. I tries all the settings and it is not working.
Spec of my laptop:
- Intel Centrino Duo T7100,
- Intel Pro Wireless 3945 ABG
I hope this help You (and me) to solve the problem.
My gratulations for such a good work.
Grtz.

Flash Youtube Subject description: jerky playback |
|
Hello Mr. Singh.
I'm wondering if you have been able to overcome the playback problems of flash videos from sites like youtube in your flavor of puppy. I have read the forums on this but have found no solution that works.
Does flash video playback smoothly in Singh-Dingo? Judging by your screen shots it looks to be a great puplet.
Mny Thx in Advance.
Vito

puppy 4 beta 2 Subject description: flash player |

dear vito,
i never installed flash at that time so i would not be in a position to say any thing on that however i did try u tube and found it receive broken videos so i did not try much on that. you can download my pup_save-Deep.2fs rar file and enjoy many other worthy applications by using it along with puppy alpha 3.96 or later versions by upgrading it . to know about use of save2fs file please read the puppy master's blog as well as forum posts if you are not aware of it.
thanks and regards.

iso file Subject description: doesn't seem to work |
|
Hello:
I downloaded the remaster 394.iso but when I try to boot it I get a kernel error.
However, I have the deep file so I suppose it is reasonable to assume that it will also work with the Newest vanilla dingo beta 2 and there then would be no need for the singh-dingo iso anyway, correct?
Mny Thx,
Vito

puppy 4 alpha 3.96 Subject description: pup_save-Deep396.2fs |

Dear Vito.
Deep396.2fs is a save file which has to be used along with puppy 3.96 or later versions of puppy as save file. i am on frugal install and found no problem in upgrading it to puppy 4 beta 2. i am sure it will work fine in case you know how to use a save file.
thanks and regards.

usb external drive Subject description: not recognised |
|
after I installed the deep save file and integrated it into my dingo setup, dingo no longer recognizes my external usb drive. It doesn't see it. If I boot from the cd the drive is recognised right away. But when booted from the hard drive it doesn't. It gives an error when I try and mount it from the command line: " bad block device." Altering the fstab does not fix the problem either. Any ideas?
By the Way, can't wait for the Sinh-Dingo 4 version. I'll nuke my present version and start over.
Vito

Dear Mr Singh:
I thing that it was a bad Mtab or init script because I copied the files from your save file to my puppy setup installed on the hard drive. I reinstalled and copied once more, this time leaving out the etc directory files and now all works well, except that the 4.00 rc version with the .25kernel has some problems and I will therefore reinstall with the .21 kernal on the final version of dingo.
Mny Thx,
Vito
I don't do the frugal install as Puppy is the best software for this old AMD 750 MHz slowpoke computer. Will you come out with another iso?

puppy 4 Subject description: more testing |
|
Hi all,
sorry i am on modem but soon i will have new ADSL-2 connection and will be back , i have created/recreated the following software/applications as given below:-
1. xmms for puppy 4 adding all the req. libs. to work in puppy 4.
2. GConf-2 extended with req, libs for pupp 4.
3. Gizmo-project created to work in puppy 4.
4. VLC-0.8.6 extended to work in puppy 4.
5. mplayer-1.0rc1.0.8.6 extended to work in puppy 4 in full screen mode
6. skype sfs file which includes qt-4
7. latest SFS-Combiner+GtkBasic003+pet2sfs as sfs file (thanks to Mark (MU)
all the above mentioned applications will work in PUPPY 3 as well. this work was done while i was on modem, all this should be good for the newbies as they would not have to search and add any libs. as the applications are self relient as for libs are concerned. however gizmo- project will require GConf2 and ORBIT-2 , but these are available as PET pkgs.
UPDATE: all the pkgs, mentioned above have now been UPLOADED
some as PETs and some as sfs files at singh-dingo.

DIRECT LINK TO Gizmo-Project:

please download and enjoy. if any questions please post here.
Best Regards.
