Subject description: quickly build a webpage from your photos

I wrote this in GtkBasic to have a small and handy utility.

It scales Photos and creates Thumbnails.
It also allows, to edit a text for every thumbnail.
Finally, a folder is created, with all pics and a webpage, to display them.
The code is so "clean", that you can open the page in Seamonkey-composer to modify your website as you like.

This page was done with it, it is from the last weekend, when I was home in the north of germany:

Download (25 kb):

mirror:
http://puppyfiles.ca/dotpupsde/puppy3/dotpups/Internet/Photo-Website.pup

Requires GtkBasic003:

mirror:
http://puppyfiles.ca/dotpupsde/puppy3/dotpups/Programming/GtkBasic003/Gtkbasic-003.pup

It is easy to use:
Save some photos in /root/my-documents/photo-website/
Then run Photo-Website from the Menu.

You finally can upload the whole folder /root/my-documents/photo-website/website/ to your hoster.

---------------------------------------
Hint:
included is a comandline-utility, that uses GDK/GDK-pixbuf:
/usr/local/Photo-Website/resource/scalepic (only 4.5 kb).
You could use it in own scripts like this:
scalepic source.jpg target.jpg 800 600 75

That reads source.jpg, scales it to 800x600, and saves it with 75% quality as target.jpg.
Pictures with another aspect ratio will be scaled down correctly, so that they do not become distorted or higher or wider.
Source is included.

Mark

GREAT!

Funnily my mom wants to sell her little house, just now. There came a company to help her, the internet exhibition would cost them 395 € per month.
They would do that investment for her for four month!

Nice pictures. Stones mean Nekrophilie (Fromm).

I guess Lobster lives in nostalgia now, the kind of Gutshof of the "Lord Of Boleskine", claimed to be the winner of ww2 against Hitler's housemagician Haushofer.

Symbolon: das Zusammengeballte

Don't pay the ferryman.....

Bye
