1.02 Kernel panic on EVERY shutdown

#1 Post by Glitchman »

For some reason, Puppy 1.02 (live CD) does not shut down completely. FWIW, I had no problems with the shutdown process in versions 0.99, 1.00, and 1.01. Here is the error I get after it shuts down both of my hard drives:

Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

Fortunately, it's just a minor annoyance.

My 1.0.1 puppy does this.

However, it is after the message saying that everything is shut down and unmounted and I should turn off the power. I don't think it can ( or will ) cause a problem....just a bit more ironing !

Wild guess (WAG): something to do with ACPI?
