[Solved] Pcmcia WI-FI rtl8185 based

#1 Post by PaoloVIP »

Dear Sirs,
I need a little help. I read some post about wi-fi and rtl8185. But some steps is not enought clear for me, so here I am.

I have a Compaq Presario 1200 and Puppy 4.0 with kernel 2.6.21.7. All works fine and very quickly, incredible for a Celeron 600 ! You did a great work!

This notebook has no network card and I put one wireless PCMCIA Digitus DN-7001GS, based on a RTL8185 chip.

This is the status:

Modprobe:
ieee80211_rtl 61188 1 r8180

Lspci:
02:00.0 Class 0200: 10ec:8185 (rev 20)

In other posts I read that this module does't work with rtl8185.

I put in blacklist the r8180 and ieee80211_rtl, because I need wpa encryption.

I found a driver at this address:
http://www.digitus.info/scripts/downloa ... =DN-7001GS

But I have no idea how to compile (is there no make).
How I can do it?

Thank you in advance
