Editing, proofreading, correcting, formatting manuals.I just need to learn the ropes
Updating to 4.01 (preparing now by reading Barrys Blog) and keeping up to date is a genuine service to Puppy.
So more editors, translators always welcome
We welcome spurts of energy but consistent efforts
as Oli has demonstrated provide the best results.
It is important to remember that the developers are
our elite team. They create and tweak Puppy
but so many other contributions are possible . . .
. . . advising noobs, which many of us still feel we are in so many areas . . . creating manuals, developing he new website, wiki, manual etc.
A good example is Eric Caneri
Set up a server for Puppy files.
Did not know how to run a server
but did and learned
Now is being supported by Pritish, Tom and others.
Ignorance or inability is transformed by effort.
Who knew that
Thanks guys.

Well as I'm on dialup - I'm not sure whether "gizmo" or "skype" are viable options - I've always believed that one needed a broadband connection to use these..?I agree Crafty, do you use Gizmo??? A great way for us all to "chat together"

Always going to be a problem AJ even when there are no errors. After all how many different flavours flavors of English are there ? Correct and incorrect are going to vary depending on where you live.alienjeff wrote:...counting the spelling errors in this thread. Scary.
Every time I make a post the built in spell checker in Firefox tells me I have at least three mistakes even though I know that the spelling is correct. Took me a while to work out what was going on, then I realised that most applications are set up for America and America doesn't use "The Queens English"; or even "Strine" for that matter.
Plus there is always the problem of "typo's.
Linux = Learning through doing  :? :D
The learning curve may be steep but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
You just have to pass the occasional oncoming train to get there.

Hello
@Update , got it working now...thanks! rebooted and tried Seamonkey instead of Opera. Seemed to do the trick.
I have created a completely stock frugal install of 4.00 with no pupsave to use as a reference and to post all further edits..
I decided that any changes/upgrades might affect the accuracy
of any screenshots, so brand new Dingo every time I reboot...
So for now, bye bye to Opera ,Fatdog....ect...only extra is Gizmo
while Im on this Puppy. but it will just be for when Im working on the manual. I cant neglect the rest of the kennel...
