Try it - you'll like it.

Logs me onto irc.freenode.net and auto logs me into 4 chat rooms
faster than Xchat or Pidgin.

By the way - Ayttm could use a new icon but they don't have anyone
who does that. I told the current developer, Siddhesh, that the Puppy
community had some members who worked on icons and he said
help would be welcome. He would need to get his people to approve
the new icon though. I would love something similar to the image on
this t shirt.

Let us know what you think,

Ayttm updated to cvs20080718_tagirc.
Now includes a auto-connect script to #puppylinux. :D

What a great little chat program, It works wonders for the size like 1MB
I even could log into my msn messenger account, It did give me 2 SL errors, but I just click ok twice and I was in, I give this little chat system 9/10 it would of gotten 10/10 if it had nicer graphics and no sl double click, But that would be puppies at fault no this program:)

When ayttm came for the first time in Dingo, it wasn't able to do file transferring.
Is this solved now?
(for this reason, I liked Pidgin better)

Yo Béèm,

I passed your question to the currently hard working Ayttm developer.
This is the reply:

I'm afraid we don't, for most protocols. It may be supported for
yahoo, or maybe msn.

Sorry,

GeoW

Yahoo and msn would already be nice.
But f there are other priorities, ok then.
In fact, the best I came across is Kopete, but as I don't run KDE for the moment, Pidgin is my second choice.

Béèm,

Our amazingly responsive Ayttm developer, Siddhesh Poyarekar, has
said he will look into file transfer within the next couple of days.

If my experience is any indication, you may have what you need
very soon.

ayytm is still unusable to chat in russian in icq( the most needed in Russia)!
gaim or pidgn have a possibility to change encodings into windows-1251 that allows to see the post from windows users written in russian

Thanks for the update.
Béèm,

Siddhesh reports that yahoo file transfer now works and he will look
at MSN next.

Note: he says send and receive work with Kopete, but Ayttm cannot
receive files sent by Pidgin because Pidgin has a bug in sending.
