How to configure puppy to access a W2K3 dhcp network?

#1 Post by djlsky »

So far puppy is great. I'm having trouble configuring my network access.
We have a W2k3 network. In the past I have installed MandrakeLive and Mepis and had access to the network (mostly for the web) "out of the box". Puppy needs me to setup something, I've checked the forums and found bits and pieces but nothing that has worked so for.

Anyone have a howto for a dhcp network connection using a domain and password.

Thanks, djl

Have you tried using the Start/Setup/Ethernet/network wizard to configure your network card for DHCP.

ah, you have a dhcp server that wants a password?
...problem.

the rc.network script that runs at bootup, also the Network Wizard just run dhcpcd and there is no provision to accept a password or anything else.
The Wizard will have to be modified.

Maybe you can try manually on commandline...

# dhcpcd etho

find out what responses are needed.
