I was kindly sent several copies (Live CD and HD installable) for free (everyone welcome) of Ubuntu Linux.

The first time I booted it stalled on loading a libc library. This was the live CD. The second time, after testing with Puppy and making sure it was not my CD-Rom it booted up - eventually. Too slow ubuntu - too slow.
I do have Ubuntu on my HD - Puppy I boot from CD. I really really really want to say something positive about Ubuntu as I like their ethos. Oh I know - it recognised everything and booted up ready connected to the Internet. it has a consistent layout.
Now let me out of here - I have some frisking to do . . .
