another post sent me to http://happypenguin.org/ where I discovered that a CIVILIZATION clone is available for Linux. They just had a new release too. It seems to have good reviews; I'm not much of a shoot'em-up fan, but CIVILIZATION has endured & it might be fun to have our own netgame sometime... we are global! :wink:
And... the tilesets are customizable- hmmm.

I have freeciv running on my box but just busy with testing kde apps. will release it in a few days.
