On Barry's blog there is an item about the b43 / bcm32xx problem. I am having it on my HP Pavilion zv6000. How does one go about making the change to use the bcm43xx when using the live CD? Even if I 'unload' the b43 and try and load the bcm43xx it will not see the wireless.

Gzine still has the on going problem when changing vizulazations.

Do we have a list of known good, tested .pet packages and .sfs files for 4.1? If not, can we have a place here on the forum or the wiki for such a list? Would help in reducing the frustration level.

firmwares for dvb are not in /lib/firmware

The firmwares will install into /lib/firmware when the 'dvb-usb' module loads the first time.

Barry mentioned on his blog he found the error and said, fixed.
I just installed 410 (frugal HDD) but I still have the same isue.
Selected FileZilla, OOo and Wine.
Only FileZilla ans OOo are loaded (looks like the load order is alphabetic)

I still have something mounted on _ro2 (looks like a pristine pup_xxx.sfs)

I have, as a test in qemu, a full HDD install of 407
In some 5 minutes I did the upgrade to 410.
A piece of cake.
(didn't know if it was needed, but did the update of grub as well)

My card loads iwl3945. On previous puppies I think it was ipw3945. With iwl, it is hard to lock on a signal, it requires many tries, but it works at last (posting this with 4.1 after a little work to lock signal). I tell the network wizard to save the configuration for next boot but at next boot everything needs to be reconfigured again. First time this happens with Puppy on this computer. I will now try retro.

This is the first time it happened to me since the introduction of the event manager. I saw posts of other people complaining about this.
The srO icon places itself over the sda1 one.
The paint icon was half over the draw one.

Don't remember, but will have to chase the forum to see what cure there was for this (if any)

I am only a novice at this and basically an end user, but have been waiting for 4.1 as I've had problems with my USB wireless network in previous versions (3 and 4). I posted the problem and was advised that it may be resolved with the new kernel (I'll update that post in a minute)

I have a Dell Latitude Cpt, 500mhz with 256mb of ram. The USB wireless is from Zydas and has a zd1211 chipset.

I had tried 4.07 and got an improvement, but had to use ndiswrapper to load the zd1211b driver and even then connection was hit and miss. It really seemed to have problems with the WPA encryption and I had to reconnect everytime I booted up.

Anyway, I have loaded up 4.1, used the zd1211rw driver suggested in the Network Wizard, found the network, put in my WPA key and hey presto, connected straight away. One Happy Puppy!!!

I have some info about wifi in Puppy. I have a Dell optiplex gx260 with a Netgear wpn 311 (atheros) card.
Wifi was the most stable in 2.17.1 but ok in 3.01 and also 4.0, both with my broadcom and netgear cards. However now in 4.1 something is wrong. And I know what it is After boot my wlan lists the driver as ath_pci so wifi should work, but alas, no network. So here is what to do: Using ndiswrapper to unload the driver I find that the loaded driver is NOT ath_pci but ath5k. With that disabled I go back to load module ath_pci and "presto" wifi works.

This started in 409 and is still an issue in 410.
Is here some jwm file that can be edited to get it right again (yes a reboot fixes the problem)

I am booting from NTFS drive using GRUB for NTLDR technique.
