How do I set Firefox's "Save file" dialog default?

#1 Post by Pizzasgood »

You know that "save file" dialog box that some linux programs (like Firefox 1.5 and I think Mozilla) use, where it has "save in folder" then under it "Browse for other folders"? I like it once I've hit the "Browse for other folders" button, but the fact that I have to click it firs infuriates me. Is there any way to make that default to opening all the way?

doesn't edit-->preferences-->downloads give you the option of "ask me where to save every file"?

Yeah, but it doesn't default it to the part that shows the filetree. Just a dropdown. I have to actually click to make it open up with the tree so I can choose something other than home, filesystem, and anything I add to it.

I actuall like the expanded version more than the Windows way, but I'd prefer the Windows way to having to go through an extra click to pick where to put it. It defeats the purpose of telling it to let me pick.
