Nice one 8)

After listening to your pawed cast I have goggled a bit for the term xml and found these :)

http://www.w3schools.com/xml/xml_whatis.asp
http://www.sitepoint.com/article/management-system-php
http://xml.oreilly.com/news/dontlearn_0701.html

After reading those articles it seems to me that xml is the most difficult to learn and is something for the programmers...it's something similar to html but tags are not pre-defined (so you'll need to define your own). Docbook XML ("simply a markup dialect, or vocabulary, like HTML; and like HTML, DocBook is defined by a document type definition, or DTD...") is a little bit easier as tags are pre-defined, but learning is still needed and it's probably not so easy for people with no html experience (for this reason the people at php.net has documentation on how to create documentation)...The good thing of those standards is that the content can be reused and can be converted to different formats...maybe puppy will be ready for that someday?

Fedora uses docbook

Mandriva hire a company called NeoDoc to manage docs for them. NeoDoc uses something called BorgeXML CMS (from their webpage, "BorgeXML relies on technologies such as XML, XSLT, DocBook, CVS [Concurrent Versions System], single sourcing, etc.") to do the job.

Lobster, i copied pod12.ogg to 2005-11-21-lobster.ogg

I leave pod12.ogg there, because I don't like broken links.
For the future we should use the new naming-convention, as it sorts files automatically by date.

If you find other pawcasts in the web, please upload them, or give me the links and I'll do it :)

Thanks Mark :)

Will try and remember to upload in the date format.
I agree that XML can be complex but it is precise and is the way of future compliance. I spent a lot of time (in Windows at that time) looking for credible XML editors and was never happy.

This is what I remember: XML stores data and XLS (the XML stylesheet) decides how that data is presented - the form it takes. The more Puppy data is in XML the more it can be called in new and varied ways (reusing data) XML is a way of storing information in a way that encourages adaptation. What can others add?

got the following message when trying to move a new pawedcast (after uploading)
Tried translating it (Mozilla seemed to translate from German to German) - but it seems to say the page is not available and the file did not transfer . . .

I will place it elsewhere for now :)

Thanks Mark - noticed you have found other ramblings . . .
