Can't enlarge pup001 file

#1 Post by EarlSmith »

I am trying to increase the pup001 file to 512mb. so I can install Open Office 2.0.
Error message comes up saying -- " Sorry, but Puppy does not have a file mounted on /root. A file would be mounted on /root if the enviroment variable PFILE was defined. Press OK to exit... " Everything else in Puppy 1.0.6 seems to work fine.

By the way, the Puppy How To Videos are great.
Thanks for any help on this problem!

What version of puppy do you have (is it the original ISO, a remaster, etc)?
How are you running it (liveCD, hdd install, etc)?

I am running 1.0.6, installed to a hard drive in a 3gb partition, booting through Grub, 256mb ram, 1.4ghz AMD cpu, nothing on the drive except Puppy and another 3gb partition and a 512mb swap partition. Pup001 is in the other partiton.
Any idea what the error message means?
