Hi ttuuxx, I need a hand. I downloaded (right click, save link as)
libmpeg2.so.0
Because I'm trying to install the binaries from scumvm....
But when I execute scumvm in console, i get
Hola, necesito una manoscummvm: error while loading shared
libraries: /usr/lib/libmpeg2.so.0: file too short
What should I do?
Thanks,
droope

@droope,
you need to download libmpeg2.so.0.0.0, and save to /usr/lib, then probably need to create symlinks:
| Code: | ln -s /usr/lib/libmpeg2.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libmpeg2.so.0
ln -s /usr/lib/libmpeg2.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libmpeg2.so |

I'll try to search the forum, i'll let know if I solve it |
SOLVED

Help? Subject description: installing extra libraries to run older puppy game on dingo |
|
Hi, thanks for the libraries Ttuuxx. Apologies - I don't really know what I'm doing. Having just installed bubbles and gemgame on dingo using the pet packages from a forum post I thought I would try my luck at getting xscrabble running - one of my favourite puppy games. Running from a console it said it needed libXaw.so.6 so I downloaded that and put it in usb/lib. Then copying the advice above I also downloaded libXaw.so.0.0 and put in code like that given by muggins to symlink. Not sure what I'm doing and I still get the file too short error.
Any help much appreciated

on puppy 4.0.1 with nothing else needed, they worked fine
If you still need libxaw.so.6
I would download http://www.puppylinux.ca/tpp/ttuuxxx/Libs/libXaw6.so.6.0.1
and system link it to libXaw.so.6
or install the pet below

Thanks for the pet. It hasn't made any difference to the 'too short' error. I will carry on having xscabble available on teenpup...
It's a fiendishly clever scrabble programme anyway so I'm a bit wary about playing it
Impressed that you could find the link to the bubbles/ gemgame installation post - I searched and searched for that and couldn't find it again! (found the files on a usb pen in the end )

Bubbles and Gemgame are in the puppy package manager. For puppy 2,3 series, You can even install it on 4.0 with the package manager, just click on "Offical Puppy 3" and it should install the libs, But teenpup uses 2 series, You wouldn't have the option, just install it from the manager.
Oh ya you said "Impressed that you could find the link to the bubbles/ gemgame installation post - I searched and searched for that and couldn't find it "
hmmm you aren't using the latest "Firepup" are you? (FirePup v0.04.3 released nov12/0 if you are, you'll have 5 new site search engines that I made up and if you type "Bubbles" it will be on the top of the list for results.

hope that helps

Missing link for Libs |
|
Hi Ttuuxxx,
I used to find missing lib from your site url: http://www.puppylinux.ca/tpp/ttuuxxx/Libs/
Since a few days, the link is unavailable.
Where could I find those libs again ?
Any reason for that ?
Thank you very much.

Tpp is a huge directory, by next week, this should be completely populated. |

Well we are all moving servers so it might take a few more days, meanwhile just give me a list of libs you need and If I have them, I'll post them for you.

Question for ttuuxxx: How much disk space would be required to store the content of your libs library........? Would it be possible to get the whole library in compressed file to store locally on my file server ?
Thank you very much.

Hi ttuuxxx,
Your /Libs files would be a good one to have on several servers. The bandwidth isn't very much as the files are small but spreading it out will give users alternate locations in case we go down for some reason.
Thanks,
Eric
