There's a file called colorcir.ps in /usr/share/ps-pdf. Try printing that out with the xpdq print manager program ( Start>Utilities menu ). It's a good test for colour printing.
If you click on Configure Driver in the printer menu in Xpdq there are options for defaulting to monochrome or colour. Make sure colour is selected. As all the print jobs are routed through xpdq then this setting is possibly the first place to check.
