I for one am glad that 1.0.3 is reverting to 2.4 kernel.

More chance of the "just works" becoming reality.

1.0.2 was the first time I haven't bothered downloading the latest version on the release day - and I kept using 1.0.1 or 0.9.9 instead. I did eventually try it but it seemed too much was not working or you had to use some work around.

I agree that USB support is better in 2.6 but I don't find it hard to mount/umount usb in 2.4 versions of Puppy anyway.
