NOP, Thunar, and "default word processor"

Thunar, running in NOP 4.1, looks for a "default word processor" when I try to open a *.doc file. How do get it to recognize Open Office Writer as the default?

very easy!
right click on the file and choose open with other application and choose or type swriter

or a more permanent solution

edit
/usr/local/bin/defaultwordprocessor

so that it uses the appropriate executable for OOo writer
