Home: http://mooedit.sourceforge.net/
Version: 0.9.4

Quote:
medit is a text editor.

Started originally as a simple built-in editor component in GGAP, it grew up to a real text editor.

The intention now is to make it a useful programming and around-programming text editor.

Features
* Configurable syntax highlighting.
* Configurable keyboard accelerators.
* Multiplatform - works both on unix and windows.
* Plugins: can be written in C or Python.
* Configurable tools available from the main and context menus. They can be written in Python or Lua, or it can be a shell script.
* Regular expression search/replace, grep and find frontends, builtin file selector, etc.

Looks very promising.

Compiled and tested in Dingo (4.00).

it's very interesting:

i like geany very much, but had always problems with the text colours. found medit. nice text colours, simple to change them. as i'm no coder at all, i now have two 'advanced' editors i like. and now i also know, how to change the text colours in geany.

and it seems, i'm not the only one.

But I have to use leafpad as I don't figure out how to get geany window narrow enough to my needs. As I write latex and like to keep editor and xdvi or gv windows side by side.
