Pup 1.0.3 released 9th June
Okay, it's out, see News page!
Back on 2.4.27 kernel!
There's also "bare bones" to play with, only 39.0M
...probably best to boot that with a new pup001 file, and not get it mixed up with the regular Puppy's pup001 file.

Note that the 2.4.27 kernel used in Pup 1.0.0, 1.0.1 and now 1.0.3, does not have acpi, so that's why you don't see an option to disable it in the boot menu.
I tested on four different PCs and it shuts down okay. That was a bit of a problem before -- an acpi-enabled kernel sometimes did a better job of shutting down the PC, like getting it to power-off.

i made a dotpup to download Unleashed 1.0.3 automatically
the md5sum file on the server does not seem to match most of the files i downloaded, so i made my own md5sum file ... so the md5sum file will not tell you if you have the same files as are on the server, and it won't tell you if they are the same files as are on Barry's machine, but it will tell you if you have the same files that i have on my machine

1.0.3 packages md5sum goofed
i goofed with the md5sum file.
I made all the packages in the Unleashed packages directory into tarballs, but only uploaded the new and changed packages.
So, although the older packages on ibiblio are okay, they give different md5sums.

Guys, nice job on the new release and additions. Good to see that wireless is being looked into.
You welcome to use my article on Puppy and wireless as a reference, which is located here.
One question. Are the non-vesa video issues (ie: laptops) fixed in the new release? Or should users still using unleashed?

I love it when a plan comes together
