HP1035NR

#1 Post by n01fu »

I have installed puppy 4.20 and the patches on a HP1035NR. I run skype and it has correctly found the webcam and i can send and receive video. however i can not send or receive audio. i have tried using the alsa wizard as well as the mixer and can not get the mic nor the speakers to work.

the alsa wizard reports the following sound cards

hda-intel 8086:27d8 (rev 02)
legacy Probe:legacy ISA (non-PNP) chips
usb audio override: USB Sound Device
aoa override: apple onboard audio

However, sGmixer reports the audio card as the IDT 92HD71BXX.

does anyone have any suggestions fort what i should try to get any of these selections to work?

I am a total newbie at linux and not really understanding how to troubleshoot this or what to try to get it to work.

Outside the skype environment, do you have sound then?

In the alsamixer, very often all the slides aren't correctly set. Did you verify?
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).

No, there are no sounds outside of skype either. i have played with the alsa mixer slide levels and it doesn't make a difference.

are there particular levels i should try?
