Spotted this on a Ubuntu forum, whilst looking for somnething completely unrelated.
However they have a free linux release

Edit:
Made an sfs with desktop file on Lupu 511 and have also ran it on 431 (editing the Plopp_511.sfs to just Plopp.sfs)

End Edit

PLOPP is a creative painting tool for cartoon-like 3D scenes without the effort that comes with professional 3D modelling programs. You can build 3D objects very easily! Just paint them in a 2D environment and PLOPP will transform them into 3D! The 3D objects can then be moved or rotated in order to arrange them in a true 3D scene. You can paint different backgrounds and adjust the lighting in the scene. The scenes can be printed, set as the desktop wallpaper, or sent as an ecard.
I have tried it, but i need more time to fiddle with my graphics card:
From the Readme:
1. System Requirements

-----------------------
- Linux i368

- Hardware-accelerated OpenGL
TOMBH on this post about CF may help with the OpenGL:

Very, very interesting, but it's not really a game is it?

Your right it isnt a game. It was getting late.
I will delve into it further when i have worked out which is a smaller Abiword or Textmaker. It does look good though.

Just mark it to be moved to Additional Software (PUPs, n' stuff) and the mods will move it . Like I said though, looks very interesting.

Just returned to Plopp.

Lucid 511 on a Dell Inspiron 1300 - Graphics Intel 915

Installed Xorg high from Quickpet, to enable OpenGl

I downloaded the source, put it into /root/Myapplications/bin

ran

Code: Select all

Plopp.sh
I was able to use it ok, however i did have an error
Gdk-warning ** XID collision , trouble ahead
I looked this up and it could be something to do with my graphics driver.
