I didn't really like it but if you want Puppy in Italien puppy213_it is much better: http://ecomoney.eu/puppy/distros/giovelug/puppy213_it/
Maybe that helps you
More info to Linux Ogigia Zeronove

I tried it... I think it's based on puppy 4.0 (I don't remember...) Good things are elements in the menu translated in italian and some good manuals; everything else isn't translated except for the desktop icons. Are you interested in collaborating on a project for an official italian localization?

Rodin.s has made some .pot files and .pet files to translate Lucid 5.2.8-004. If you want or you know someone who wants to participate translating the files for an Italian language pack, there's more information here.

There is a puppy Italian forum
http://www.italianpuppy.org/
and smokey's older manual
http://puppylinux.org/main/Puppy430-tutorial-Italiano.pdf
and Barry has recently created Momanager to translate Puppy to any language
http://bkhome.org/blog/?viewDetailed=02688
good luck,
Edit: just noticed, this is an old thread...
