PUPLET newbie Q-a puplet with openoffice supporting PPTX?

#1 Post by jno »

Can anyone help me choose a decent puplet - I am running Puppy 4.12 at the moment and it does everything I want except for a few things - I am looking for a puplet that adds the following functionality:

-> Openoffice with support for Microsoft PPTX files (for PowerPoint 2007)
-> Firefox as default browser

Other than that I am more than happy with all I have seen from Puppy 4.12 - can anyone suggest a puplet for me?

You could create your own . . .

FireFox

OpenOffice

You might need OxygenOffice for what you require

otherwise search puplets here:

Puppy Raspup 8.2Final 8)

Any OpenOffice 3 can do that. There are openOffice sfs here (copy to where your pup_save is and reboot).
Puppy user since Oct 2004. Want FreeOffice? Get the sfs (English only).

Are there any more detailed instructions on how to update my OpenOffice? As my original post says, I am a total newbie to all this and have no idea how to update OpenOffice from v2.2 to v3.0 on my 4.12 standard HDD install of Puppy Linux.

Appreciate all the comments so far but would love some more detailed instructions on how to do something simple like update OpenOffice to a newer version.
