Help with Airlink wireless and/or US Robotics Ethernet

#1 Post by 6502coder »

Just installed Puppy 4.1.2 on an old Sony VAIO laptop, configured dual-boot with Win98 (NOT 98SE).

Having no joy getting either of my PCMCIA cards to work for Puppy:

Airlink AWLC3026 Wireless LAN card
US Robotics USR7901A Ethernet card

Haven't been able to find a usable driver for either card using the Networking Wizard.

Both cards work fine when I'm running Win98.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if these are older equipment you may have better luck with an older puppy eg. 2.17 or 3.01

just got it going
hardest part wireless config fields
in network wizard !!
used ndis wrapper on awlc driver:
Mrv8000c, which is on install cd,
or in yr system files in w98,
see if start>find will pinpoint it in w98 then point w98 partition in pup,
choose ndis in netwrk wizard, click to type in path..if easier to copy driver to floppy in w98 then mnt foppy in pup...cheers, mm
