LinNeighborhood - How to talk to other Puppy & other Lin

#1 Post by Semi-tec »

Greets to all, Happy New Year!

I have no trouble connecting to shares on any of my WIndows Boxes (2) from any of my Puppy Boxes or my Vector Boxes, but I cannot seem to figure out how to see any of my Linux systems from any other LInux System. Puppy-to-Puppy or Puppy_to Vector - is just not happening for me; the steps that work for windows do nothing when I try them from Linux to Linux.

Is there another whole set of instructions different from those that are posted here for connecting to Windows Machines... for how to connect to other Linux Machines?

Matsoh Gratsoh in advance for any help on this issue,

Actually you cannot 'share drives' from Puppy. It does not have the Samba server.

There is a way to have the same results by using the FTP server.

I have created some instructions in this post http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?p=13080#13080

Hi Rarsa,

Thanks for the help - it works great with WIndows, but I'm trying to talk to another Puppy and a Vector.

How do I connect to the BETAFTPD TTP Server from another Puppy or Vector or other Linux?
