How to get woof woof at boot up with Puppy 4.2?

#1 Post by graded »

I have upgraded from Puppy 2.12 (Dingo) to Puppy 4.2 (Deep Thought) on an ancient Dell Dimension XPS 300 with a creative sound blaster
sb-sbwe sound card. ALSA Conf recognizes the sound card and generates the test woof woof. My system settings are saved in the Pup_Save file on hard disk and I am booting from a Live CD. My experience with Dingo was that in the same situation I got a woof woof at each live CD bootup.
Unlike the situation with Dingo, I don't get a Woof Woof on boot up with Puppy 4.2. Am I supposed to? Do I need to set something? Is there a way to generate the Woof Woof with a console command? I checked the modprob file and the ALSA conf generated portion is indeed correct and included in the file for the sb-sbwe sound card. Any woof woof suggestions?
