Is the source code available somewhere? I'm not in a current Puppy at the moment and I'd like to try it anyway. And I just plain like compiling my own software

I've been all over. Really. Which is part of the problem because I'm almost never home.

Hi Nathan hope you like patching files
ftp://updates.redhat.com/enterprise/4AS/en/os/SRPMS/firefox-1.5.0.12-0.19.el4.src.rpm
after you work out that mess, then What I did was compile the latest 2 series and 3 series the same way, then swap around things and see what works best after its been compiled. lol

Travel is good, it "broadens the mind", and gives you a chance to see what people need from Grafpup...I assume grafpup has been with you on your travels.
Your experience and aesthetic eye would be of great benefit to puppy.

Back on topic, Yesterday I installed Firepup on Upup 4.71 (Woof alpha 7) and it is working great.
I had been running Firefox 3.0.8 from the Ubuntu repository and I much prefer your Firepup.......Installed Firefox, wasn't to be found in the menu. Drug icon to the desktop and at least FF worked. Ran "fix menus", restarted x, etc. still no FF in the menu.
On the other hand, Installed Firepup, restarted x and everything is in the correct location and working. Much simpler install and seems just as fast or faster than FF 3.0.8.
Ttuuxxx, thanks for Firepup......

I don't know if you are still working on this but I got an error after I ran it saying that adblock plus was not compatible with ff 1.5.

Did you delete your /root/.mozilla folder? It seems as if the Adblock is from one of your previous firefox installs (happened to me too BTW).
See the first post of this thread.
Cheers, Christian

Hey Ttuuxxx,
I've decided to come back to Firepup after wandering around trying different FF versions. Still like it Thanks for adding the search engines, especially the forum search, it's essential, maybe even life and death
2 suggestions, you can take 'em or leave 'em, (though I suppose you would've done that without my permission )
1. Would you consider making the search bar slightly longer, a bit more like FF3?
2. Is there an easy way to enable the user to add or remove search engines?
Thanks Ttuuxxx for making Firepup, excellent resource

2. Is there an easy way to enable the user to add or remove search engines? yes go to usr/lib/firepup <-- which ever version and open the folder, then look for the folder caller "searchplugins" open that and delete away or right click on one and open it as text, probably better using ones I provided, I made them simple, other ones add extra stuff for site ranking etc. Then just alter/change the web location and give it a shot. If you have a site in mind, post the link and I'll see what I can do.
Thanks Ttuuxxx for making Firepup, excellent resource

no problem, oh by the way yes I know about Trademe, I made a account with them a few years back and once in a blue moon buy stuff from them, first I always ask the seller if they will ship to Australia, 9/10 time they do , Still get the news letter about 3-4 times a year.
Well keep me informed and also I think there's one already made for en.wikipedia.org
