Well the way I look at it is that if they sold 100 000 copies @ $2.00 each thats $200,000 USD, Then if you minus the cost of the cd Which in Australia retail is around $0.20 times 100 000 units is $20,000 AU or which is a lot less in USD, anyways that left a profit of $180,000 USD, plus the cost of blank disk is probably less than half of that in Vietnam, then probably half of that in full retail plus shipping. I would estimate probably $5000 or less, Anyways I hope you give Barry a portion and maybe Eric for his servers that Hacao has used in the past, not sure if they still are but Eric's Servers are very costly on a monthly bases, If I ever make it big with Puppy or Linux, I'll surely not forget the foundation that my efforts were made on.

Thank you Hacao. We're eagerly waiting for the English version of your great OS.

By the way, what does hacao mean? Is that a name? or is it a Vietnamese word for something?

HACAO Puppy Linux : Switch the kernel to 3.0.25 !

#35 Post by Pelo »

It's just the Lucid Version remasterized with kernel 3.0.25. It's a personal Puplet. But you can easily switch the kernel. Improvment is wireless connection.

Sure a remasterized Iso would be the solution

#37 Post by Pelo »

Sure a remasterized Iso would be the solution, but i have not any knowledge of vietnamese words, and linux too.
Hacao was very useful in Vietnam, perhap they still use old version. Few Linux are really used by People. Hacao was used by schools, it was not only a geek Puppy. Bravo ! :) I am french... English, vietnamese, linux, that's would be too much for me to make an ISO

@Truong: It's good to see you still around here. I couldn't forget the old days when it was unable to run Ubuntu smoothly on my old laptop and there it came Hacao! I was thrilled to see the Compiz and Emerald on top of it.
To revive Hacao is a good idea and a good taste to young people.

How about making the new Hacao running as normal user instead of root user by default?
