Hi there

Thanks for this, it was just what I've been looking for :)

Just a few questions:

PMount, can that be automated so that it detects drives that are plugged in?

Also does the firewall always remain active once you have completed the 'wizard' the first time?

Thanks :)

1 Yes, got to Menu -> Puppy menu -> Desktop -> Desktop drive icons manager

And check:

v Tick box for drive icons on desktop
v Tick box for an icon for each partition

2 Yes, also active after a reboot.

Hi there again

Can anyone tell me how to make the 'MENU' tab and the items in that column larger ie the text and the icons, so it is easier to read?

Thank you in advance :)

BTW If anyone wants a recent version of WINE it can be found here:

http://puppylinux.ca/members/T/486_pet/ ... 4-i486.pet

Tested & working

Open /root/.jwm and scroll down to <MenuStyle>

Change the ... ??? ... to:

DejaVu Sans-14

Then restart JWM
(Menu -> Puppy menu -> Desktop -> JWM Configuration -> Restart JWM now)

Thank you again for the help, unfortunately I can't find the file you described.

[EDIT] I change the settings in the 'theme' file using Leafpad, that seems to work for me.

Here's a screenshot of the contents of the directory:

Ojee, I was wrong. I meant: /root/.jwm/jwmrc-theme :?

Thanks again :)

I've tried your OS build on an old laptop but could only get the display to work in XVesa mode ( onboard Intel gfx ), which is a shame as I would have used it to replace the current OS.

Works perfect on my desktop tho' :D

This is a fantastic puplet - my favorite! It has brought my old Dell Latitude L400 back to a meaningful existence.

One suggestion - old laptops like mine often have a dead BIOS battery that isn't worthy and/or capable of easy replacement. If you could add a program that accesses internet time and changes the system clock (e.g., NTPDATE-sync_clock), that would be a great help.

Thanks

Great Puplet, but is it possible to install OpenOffice 3.1? I put the .sfs file in /mnt/home and it loads it, but it only shows "OpenOffice Impress presentation" and "OpenOffice Draw vector editor" under the Graphic section in the menu and when I click on either of them, they never load. Also, in /usr/local/apps there is no OpenOffice, which I thought there should be? Thanks.

Edit: Is it possible to change the speed of the mouse as well? It's kinda fast. I don't see an option for it in Mouse/Keyboard Wizard. Thanks again.

Windows applications: Wine 1.1.20 (12 Mb)
http://www.browserpuppy.com/software/wi ... 0-i486.pet

Gnumeric (+goffice) 1.4.8 (3 Mb)
http://www.browserpuppy.com/software/go ... -1.4.8.pet

Abiword 2.7.6. (3 Mb)
http://www.browserpuppy.com/software/abiword-2.7.6.pet

PGRS module seems to be broken, if anyone needs it for their modem it can be found here as a PET file:

Very nice! I'm thinking of using this as a base for my new project, a kiosk pc puplet...

I like it! I don't use most of the apps in the official Puppy distributions, and so I generally use the 'barebones' derivatives. But I like Firefox, and want a few other apps. Browserpuppy is about the perfect balance for me.

I was at the VMware site, and they have a Browser "virtual appliance" that features Firefox under Ubuntu. The size is 258 Mb! What a hog! Puppy is the best base for VMware virtual appliances, I think.

Maybe I'll set up a VM with Browserpuppy and upload it to VMware.com
