Ok maybe i didn't give enough detail, once I installed it, I fixed menus and clicked on the menu link and it didn't start, then I ran it via the command line and received that error post in the previous post.
Also I'm almost finished with v5 I included xfceburn and left out the xfce image viewer and xfce screenshot apps, but I'm still undecided if pburn should go in, the only reason why I would included it is for multisession, I don't use multisession but other have reported a need for it.
once thats worked out then It will be ready. a quick test of it and then I'll upload, so if you can have a fixed version ready I'll include it in v5.

Sorry, It did only work for those with screen heights 600 and smaller. I guess, this fumbling scripter uploaded without doing a final test in higher screen resolutions . After tidying up the script, there was a reference to a non-existing variable left  .

Anyways, now it's tested in 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x960 :) (Still a bit to tall for 640x480, though  )

MinHundHettePerro your new one works, glad to see it running, I don't see the spaces I used anymore, so how do we remove the 7 spaces between the select to crop the height? Its very tall, and small monitors would have a field day with it., Probably have to use the small camera also.

Try it in 800x600, then the spacers are gone and the mini-icon camera is used, see screenie above. 8)

Really like it.
Congratulations both of you. Great example of cooperative effort.

What do I type at the CLI to run it? Tried various combinations but none work. Runs from Menu just fine

Thanks for that. Got it to work. Well actually it still took several attempts before I got it working by the CLI. Why?
My fault entirely in not reading exactly what you wrote.

The app is Pup-Shots, it says Pup-Shots in the Menu, the directory off /root is Pup-Shots but the file name is not. It's PupShots. It caught me out and perhaps it may catch out others who are as stupid as I am. :)
But it's a really trivial point to be honest.

Another very very small point; now you have made the delay variable perhaps the statement "You'll have a 5 second delay..." is no longer needed.

Also I agree that "Scale" is more accurate than "crop".

Thank again for all the work you are doing to help ttuuxx make this such an interesting project.

Cheers
Dave

Sym-link in /usr/local/bin, now runs from command-line; Pup-Shots :) . Deleted the "5 s delay"-text from the top, hoping that the resulting one-liner would make it display properly also in 640x480 but, alas, it's still not perfectly rendered in this resolution :P .

Great work MHHP & now because we always want more, would it be possible to have a 'save settings' button. If not your default settings seem fine to me.

Hi MHHP I just asked Zigbert to maybe add Burn Iso and Erases Cd/DVD to the front GUI of Pburn, I bet He won't LOL, I hate using menus, thats the only thing I use a Burner for, well 9/10 times, plus it looks nicer, lol
here's a a pic of what I mean :)

Don't worry, ttuuxxx!
I will not F up your Pup-Shots beyond recognition :) . I also don't like menus, unless they are necessary, like in bigger applications. In a mini-app like this, there shouldn't need to be any menus.
To add a "save settings"-thingy, as suggested by OlddogNewtricks, would only require a small checkbox (there is room for this to the left of the Cancel-button), and to add one extra settings-file of something like 20 bytes and to add maybe 10 simple lines of code to the script-files. :)

Maybe, if I feel the surge to code a bit later on :) .

Great works boys, I like the way it looks in different monitor resolutions and the images taken in different capture resolutions. The "Psave settings" aimed by OlddogNewtricks will be a good addition too.

This is a example of cooperative work, :)

Just we must not forget to give credit to the application developer (a readme file with credits could be fine for it), and share with him/them the GUI frontend that you developed.

Well, I know exactly how I would implement the "save settings"-thingy, but it'll have to wait until later tonight. So, ttuuxxx, don't wait for it for this release. It's quite alright in its present shape, and your new release is eagerly awaited ... :) :) :)

Page 50 guys, wow we've sure went the distance on this version of puppy, I'm wondering if we will hit a 100, lol Probably my longest thread to date that I started. Kind of cool.

Also If anyone wants another GUI project, there's a real good recovery program a 38kb pet and it needs a gui, lol If anyone builds it, I'll put it into the next release, stuff like that could really save a lot of hard work for people. Well the link is http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=33521 and it comes with directions, its just to make the GUI. Have fun, ok I get back to work , LOL
